Water will break it. EPDM has strong gas and chemical resistance, but it can shrink slightly when chilled. Silicone holds its shape much better in sub-zero conditions. Running both together means twice the sealing surface of a fitting that only uses one O-ring type, which cuts the chance of a leak right down.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe double O-ring setup also lets you bend the hose to a tighter radius without it losing its radial seal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eNo clamps needed. Just make sure you cut your hose straight rather than on an angle, so the line seats with a complete seal.
