Silicone Bung Bored (20-36mm)

Tapered silicone bung for carboys and demijohns with an 8mm bore hole for fitting an airlock or blow off tube.

This bung is manufactured from lead-free, food-grade curing silicone and is chemically inert, meaning it will not react with wort, beer, wine, spirits, or cleaning and sanitising solutions under normal brewing conditions. It will not impart flavour, aroma, or colour to your fermentation.

Silicone offers excellent temperature tolerance, remaining flexible and dimensionally stable across a wide temperature range, making it suitable for both cold fermentation and warmer fermentation environments without hardening, cracking, or deformation.

Designed to fit our 23L Glass Carboys and 5L Demijohns with Flip top lids, the bung is bored with an 8mm diameter hole to accept a standard airlock, 3-piece airlocks or can be used with 6 mm x 9.5 mm EVA hose as a blow-off tube during very vigorous fermentations.
