Stainless Steel Stout Tap - Nitro Tap

Draught tap designed for dispensing using nitrogen and producing a creamy cascading pour.

These taps have a restrictor plate so when the beverage is pushed through this disk at high pressure it will atomise the liquid giving your beverage a creamy head and a fine bubble that cascades in the glass. Unlike a standard draught tap you do not need a huge amount of flow resistance from longer lengths of beer line. Instead you want beer moving through the restrictor plate under pressure. The rapid pressure drop as the beer travels through the restrictor plate causes dissolved nitrogen to rapidly come out of solution and form a thick velvet head.

To use this tap and the famous two part pour first fill a majority of the pint by pulling the tap lever forward. Allow the beer to slightly settle then push the tap handle back to top the beer off.

We highly recommend using nitrogen instead of CO2 when using this model of tap.

The stout nozzle containing the restrictor plate can be removed and the restrictor plate resistance can be changed by swapping the disk out for different aerator disks. Depending on your draught setup different restrictor disks can improve the pour. We recommend experimenting to find what works best with your setup.
