Build Your Ideal Brewing Water Profile with True RO Water.

The NEW FSA Portable Reverse Osmosis System (GT1-70B) has been specifically designed for brewing water. Unlike standard domestic RO systems that include post carbon or alkaline filters, this unit is configured Sediment → Carbon → Membrane, producing straight Reverse Osmosis water with no post filtration influence.

The lack of post carbon filtration means the pH remains stable at approximately 6.2-6.5 pH with a TDS of 10ppm (dependent on feed water conditions). Many standard drinking water RO units include post GAC filters which can elevate pH significantly due to the reaction ultra-pure water has with new activated carbon. This system avoids that issue entirely, providing a neutral blank canvas for mineral additions.

Designed to be mounted on the wall in the laundry above a laundry tub, so that it can fit onto a 3/4" tap and the waste water can go directly down the drain. Comes with a standard 3/4" female garden tap adaptor. Seperate under sink diverter valves can be purchased here.

Flow rate is rated up to 75 Gallons Per Day (approx 280 litres per day) under optimal conditions (70psi, 21°C, <500mg/L TDS). Actual production depends on feed water quality. The higher the mineral content, the less permeate water will be produced and the more waste water will be generated.

All filters and membrane are supplied. Kit includes Tubing, Clamps & Fittings (Pre-Assembled as per photo), Sediment Filter, BL@CKFREE Carbon Filter & 75GPD Asprinn Membrane.

Features:

 • WaterMark Certified
 • No Post Carbon or Alkaline Filter
 • Compact Portable RO Unit - Adapts to 3/4" Garden Tap
 • Pre-Assembled - Install or remove in as little as 30 Seconds
 • Highly Economical Cost per Litre Filtration
 • Provides Ideal Water for Brewing Coffee, Tea, Spirits, Beer, Kombucha

Filtration Stages:

STAGE 1: INLINE 5UM SEDIMENT FILTER
100% Virgin Polypropylene Poly Spun sediment filter. High flow, low pressure drop and reduced bacterial accumulation compared to alternative materials. Manufactured using a single nozzle process where melted polypropylene is blown onto a spinning 5 micron core, gradually widening the diameter while reducing outer density. Ideal for town water or quality bore water and essential for protecting downstream filters and membrane.

STAGE 2: INLINE BL@CKFREE COCONUT CARBON FILTER (ACID WASHED)
World’s first patented inline carbon filter designed to eliminate carbon fines while protecting RO membranes and faucets. An internal polypropylene post filter prevents carbon black from escaping. Filled with 100% coconut shell activated carbon (iodine number 1000) for high chlorine removal efficiency. Incorporates bacteria resistant PET pads instead of foam sponges. Fully friction welded construction (no glues). Cartridge body rated with minimum burst pressure exceeding 500 PSI. Removes chlorine and protects the RO membrane from chemical damage.

STAGE 3: ASPRINN 75GPD RO MEMBRANE (FILMTEC MATERIAL)
Removes up to 98% of organic and inorganic impurities including dissolved salts and chemicals. The membrane is the engine room of the system. All prior filtration stages exist to protect it. Produces up to 75GPD (280L/24hr) at 70psi within specified feed water requirements. Nominal rejection rate 97-98%. Typical outlet TDS <10ppm depending on feed water.

Why RO water?

Water plays a massive role in flavour, mouthfeel and fermentation performance. Municipal water often contains chlorine or chloramine. These can react with yeast by-products to form chlorophenols, producing medicinal or band-aid like flavours.

A basic carbon filter or Campden tablets will remove chlorine/chloramine. However, Reverse Osmosis removes nearly all dissolved minerals and contaminants, giving you a neutral starting point.

From there you can build a precise brewing water profile for the exact beer style you're making. Calcium assists with yeast health and clarity. Sulfate enhances hop bitterness. Chloride promotes malt fullness. Starting with mineral-free RO water allows complete control rather than being limited by whatever mineral profile your tap water contains.
