Weyermann Pale Rye Malt
(Pale Rye) Made from high-quality German rye to exhibit classic rye malt characteristics. It lends a biscuit-like flavor, with a smooth mouthfeel component, and malty-sweet aromas with hints of bread and honey. A great choice for rye beer styles or to spice up almost any brew. Rye does not have a husk; usage at higher percentage can make mashing difficult, this problem is exacerbated by a high proportion of beta-glucans (starches which gum up your mash). Rice hulls or a 30 minute beta-glucan rest at 45 degrees celsius can alleviate this problem. Rye is great when used in whiskeys! Use up to 20%.
