Herbal liqueur is a classic drink rich in complex flavours. This is a fairly basic recipe to produce a fresh, smooth herbal liqueur.
Soak the following in 500mLs of 40 - 60% vodka for 3 weeks.
- 1 Cassia Stick (Available on our site)
- 1 Star Anise (Available on our site)
- 1 Dried Prune
- 1/2 Teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Clove
- 1 Teaspoon Dried Ginger Powder (Available on our site)
Filter through coffee filter paper to remove solids.
Optional: Add 100mL black coffee for more colour and a richer flavour.
Dilute to 40% ABV if applicable then sweeten to suit your tastes with a good quality local honey.
