Add light caramel notes to beer and ginger beer or add to your rum wash for a higher fermentability.
Brown sugar is a nearly 100% fermentable sugar that adds extra complexity and colour not usually present when using white sugar, caster sugar or dextrose. It will add alcohol and a light caramel flavour.
Usage:
Beer:
Use 500g - 1kg in beer or ginger beer. Brown sugar is almost 100% fermentable and will not add sweetness but instead help to dry out your beer while also adding subtle flavours. Brown sugar will also add ABV to your beer or ginger beer based on the quantity added.
Spirits:
Use in combination with molasses to produce a rum wash based on your recipe
