Zappa™ is a native, North American, Humulus lupulus variety, neomexicanus, recovered from the wild in New Mexico. Named after Frank Zappa, in collaboration with the Zappa family, this hop is as counterculture as the musician himself.

Spicy with strong notes of diesel, resin, and pine with intense peppery notes. Additional descriptors include savory, mint, and Fruity Pebbles™. If using in fruit forward beers keep quantities limited as it can become overpowering very fast.

Aroma of pine and citrus with notes of mint and passionfruit.

Due to a blend of resinous, tropical and intense dank flavours Zappa is an awesome hop to try in Hazy style beers and IPA's with a dank, cannabis-style profile but has been used with a lot of success in more fruit forward styles like NEIPA and Hazy IPA. Zappa is a hop to definitely give a try as it is one of the only hops with a one of a kind flavour.

Very Unique

Got some of this as id tried it in a beer from the shops. Very intense when I used it in a pale ale with Citra even when only using 50 grams. I really liked it but its not comparable to any other hops I've used. Tastes minty and spicy yum was a good change

Pepper bomb and over bitter

I used this hop for a hazy ipa and paired with other juicy hops. I used about 50% zappa and the others were mosaic, citra, and simcoe. The taste is over bitter and peppery. The beer had to be dumped it was so bad. The aroma was great, but taste was gross. I dont think that 2.6% AA is correct because my other hazy's come out great with the same process. STAY AWAY from this hop. Maybe use it for a saison.
