Dextrose - Glucose Powder
Fully fermentable brewing sugar that rapidly dissolves in water and ferments fast and with minimal off-flavour production.
(Dextrose monohydrate).
Dextrose is another term for glucose, the simplest and most abundunt sugar. It is a 100% fermentable brewing sugar that is easily metabolised by brewers yeast. When compared to table sugar (sucrose) dextrose provides a cleaner flavour and a more efficient fermentation. Dextrose is the preferred brewing sugar where flavour and quality are in mind. Dextrose is much easier to dissolve than table sugar (sucrose).
Usage:
Beer:
Use 1kg of dextrose in place of sugar or brew enhancer to produce an extremely dry or lower carb beer. Can also be used to prime bottles for secondary fermentation.
Spirits:
Use 8kg in 25L to produce a wash, ensure to dose with a substantial dose of yeast nutrient or use a turbo yeast.
Cider:
Use in conjunction with as much juice as possible. Dextrose will ferment completely and rapidly leaving a dry finish. To add sweetness either back sweeten or use a less fermentable sugar such as lactose.
