Approximately 1000 Metabisulphite tablets in a pressed form for use as an antioxidant, preservative and sanitiser.
Campden tablets are an easy to use form of metabisulphite - one of the most common preservative agents in the winemaking industry. Metabisulphite is used in a range of applications that include; the preservation of wine and other fermented beverages, stopping oxidation by acting as an antioxidant, sanitation of corks, must and juice, dechlorination of water, halting fermentation prematurely and more.
Dosage:
To sanitise fruit must and juice: Crush 1-2 tablets per 5L and thoroughly incorporate into the must or juice in an open container. Ensure to let stand for 24 hours before pitching yeast.
To preserve wine or cider: Crush and add 1-2 tablets per 5L, ensure to incorporate thoroughly, for best results use alongside potassium sorbate.
To sanitise corks: Crush 1-2 Campden Tablets and dissolve in 500mL of water. Soak corks for approximately 5 minutes then apply.
To Dechlorinate brewing water: Crush one half of a Campden Tablet and add to 20L of brewing water, let sit for 5 minutes.
