This traditional Clear Belgian Candi Syrup is made from high-quality caramelised beet sugar sourced directly from Belgium. Crystal-clear and fully fermentable, it’s the perfect addition to light Belgian beer styles where colour is not desired but added fermentable sugars are. This syrup contributes minimal flavour but increases alcohol content, all while preserving the crisp, dry finish typical of classic Belgian ales.
Because it’s colourless and neutral in flavour, Clear Candi Syrup is ideal for Strong Golden Ales, Tripels, and Belgian Blonde Ales. It dissolves quickly in the kettle or fermenter boosting original gravity without impacting body, flavour, or appearance. Brewers favour this syrup when aiming for high ABV beers that remain light in both hue and mouthfeel.
If you're looking to build more flavour and colour, consider using Amber, Dark or Extra Dark Belgian Candi Syrup for richer caramel, fruit, or toffee notes suited to darker styles like Dubbels or Dark Strong Ales.
