Flaked Rye
Rye that is flaked instead of malted and produces a more mellow rye flavour.
Adds notes of honey and light biscuit flavours. Rye has a unique spice when used in larger quantities - for a more pronounced 'rye spice' titrate your dosage upwards until you are happy with the flavour. Flaked rye can suit a range of brewing applications from Rye beers to use for bourbon mashes.
The flaking process pre-gelatinises the starches within the rye making this product suitable for mashing with, no cereal mash required.
