Flaked Triticale
A cereal adjunct featuring soft bready flavours, biscuity aromas and a warm lingering rye spice note.
Triticale is a cereal crop that is the result of cross breeding between Rye and Wheat. This cereal has been flaked meaning the starches within the cereal flakes have already been gelatinised. This means cereal mashing isn't necessary and flaked triticale can be added straight to the mash.
This hybrid crop expresses traits from both Rye and Wheat with a flavour profile highlighting light spicy notes and bready flavours with biscuity aromas. Triticale can also be used with great success in bourbon and whisky mashes for extra complexity commonly found when using wheat or rye, without the need for cereal mashing.
