Cumin Seeds

A sweet and earthy spice that adds a spicy warmth to your gin.

An earthy rich spice that adds a warming sweetness, nutty character and complex spice notes. Cumin is a rich and savoury and adds similar characteristics as cassia. Since cumin seeds are so potent much smaller doses are required. Commercial gins such as the citadel range of gins have featured cumin seeds and other similar spices and taken home a myriad of awards for the complex spiced character they bring.

Dosage:

Cumin can be quiet overpowering if used in high doses. To add a mild balanced flavour use 0.1-0.3 grams per litre. We recommend startling lower and titrating up if the flavour is not pronounced enough.

Storage:

Our Cumin seeds  packed into resealable foil bags to eliminate UV damage, ensure they are kept sealed and so you can reseal these bags after opening. We recommend refrigerating after opening and using the within two years of opening. Try to keep these out of a moist environment too.
