Dried Lemongrass
A south-east asian herb that adds a fresh grassy zing with a distinct lemon aroma.
Lemon grass will add a fresh grassy flavour when used as a gin botanical. Unlike the herb steeped in tea the lemon is less prominent unless used in larger quantities. Lemon grass pairs extremely well in citrus style gins or when used in London dry styles to add a modern twist. Other complimentary botanicals to use with lemongrass include black pepper, lemon, grapefruit peel and coriander. Lemon grass adds a very pleasant aroma to gins and helps to mask spiced character.
Dosage:
Lemongrass can be quiet overpowering if used in high doses. To add a mild balanced flavour use 1 -3 grams per litre. We recommend startling lower and titrating up if the flavour is not pronounced enough.
Storage:
Our dried lemongrass is packed into resealable foil bags to eliminate UV damage, ensure they are kept sealed and so you can reseal these bags after opening. We recommend refrigerating after opening and using the within two years of opening. Try to keep these out of a moist environment too.
