N-Pure Seltzer Nutrient is a complete nutrient system developed specifically for fermenting refined sugar bases like those found in hard seltzers, alcoholic ginger beers, hard squash style drinks, and other flavoured alcoholic beverages. Designed for use with refined sugars such as dextrose, sucrose, and invert sugar syrups, it supplies the essential nutrients required for healthy yeast metabolism in fermentations where the base contains virtually no natural nutrition.
Refined sugar fermentations are deceptively difficult to run well. Unlike malt, fruit, or grain based ferments that naturally contain amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and lipids, sugar washes are nutritionally empty. Yeast placed into these environments are immediately stressed, often leading to long lag phases, sluggish kinetics, elevated off-aroma risk, and fermentations that stall before reaching target gravity. Poor yeast health in sugar ferments can also result in inconsistent attenuation and unstable neutral bases that are difficult to flavour cleanly downstream. Structured nutrient support is therefore not optional but essential for reliable outcomes.
N-Pure delivers a balanced nutrient profile including high levels of assimilable nitrogen from a urea-free source, along with phosphate, magnesium, B vitamins, and critical micronutrients such as zinc and calcium. Its chemically defined composition allows brewers to supply yeast with precisely what they need for growth and fermentation performance without introducing flavour-active organic material that can compromise a clean, neutral alcohol base.
For best results in sugar fermentations, a staggered nutrient addition approach is strongly recommended rather than a single large addition at the start. Providing nutrients in stages supports sustained yeast health throughout the fermentation, reduces early osmotic stress in high-gravity washes, and helps maintain consistent metabolic activity as alcohol levels increase. This approach promotes more reliable attenuation, reduces the risk of hydrogen sulfide formation associated with nutrient starvation, and improves overall fermentation stability. Add 1/3 of the nutrients prior to pitching yeast, another 1/3 after 24 hours and 1/3 after 48 hours.
Yeast selection is equally important. Robust, clean-fermenting strains with great stress tolerance such as EC-1118 are well suited to refined sugar environments. These strains establish quickly, ferment efficiently across a wide alcohol range, and help produce a neutral base that can be cleanly flavoured after fermentation.

Instructions:
Pre-mix N-Pure Seltzer Nutrient with approximately ten times its weight of warm water at 30-40°C. Agitate for five to ten minutes until fully dissolved before adding the solution to the fermentation medium. Ensure even distribution within the sugar wash prior to or at yeast inoculation.
Dosage:
Dosage should be adjusted based on target alcohol level and fermentation conditions. Suggested starting guidelines are as follows:
5% ABV: 1.5 g/L
8% ABV: 2.0 g/L
10% ABV: 2.4 g/L
12% ABV: 2.9 g/L
14% ABV: 3.2 g/L
